Our school has a long history of providing education and training, dating back to 1894 when the building was constructed and Realgymnasium was established here. The current secondary school moved to this place in 1952 and is referred to as Masarykova střední škola chemická from 1994.
- is a government-funded school providing education free of charge to pupils (state school),
- is a full-time secondary four-year school (students aged 15 – 19 years),
Students are provided with both general and specialized training. All students do English (compulsory), some also study German or French (optional).
Our graduates are entitled to study at all universities and colleges or can find jobs as assistants in chemistry laboratories, as ecologists, assistants at schools, technologists, toxicologists, as assistants in business companies, technicians etc.
The school participates in the international project Globe, is a member of European Chemistry Thematic Network Association, has signed up to the initiative Responsible Care, has been awarded an honorary title Ekoškola in recognition of a long-term environmentally friendly conduct. Between 1997 – 2009 the school cooperated in two Comenius School Projects with partner schools in eight countries and is keen to set up more international educational projects.
